WELCOME

Steve Smith

Hi {FIRST_NAME},

Steve Smith AREINZ
Managing Director

10, 9, 8, 7......

The final 10 second countdown at Eden Park and then the sheer joy of players and fans was palpable.

It felt like the whole country had been standing still for about 10 days as we all held our collective breath. And, when we finally exhaled, what a moment it was.

All the planning, all the training, all the selection controversies, all the player rotations, all the injuries – and then the final pay off. This was the defining moment in the careers of some of our greatest players and administrators and it all came down to a single point.

The parties and parades kept the momentum flowing for days and things have now slowly settled down and a sense of normality has returned. There was a definite halt in other seemingly less important issues and business sales also slowed for a couple of weeks. Now everyone’s making up for lost time and the energy that was being invested in the rugby is now being redirected back to the real issues.

Speaking of energy, we’ve seen what huge effects an interruption to the gas supply network can have. A small crack in a small weld in a small pipe and hundreds of millions of dollars are lost. Our focus now shifts to the upcoming general election and once again the outcome may well be decided by a single issue. There are constant reminders about the value of planning and preparation, about not taking things for granted, about the importance of small details, and that there may well be some unexpected results.

We realize how the process of buying or selling a business can also be a heart-stopper. We also know that negotiations can all come down to a single point. Like we always say, you only get one chance to do it well, so let’s make sure we get everything right.

Regards,

Steve Smith AREINZ

Located in picturesque heartland Karaka, just an easy 5 minute drive from the motorway at Papakura, this enviable lifestyle business provides fresh produce and gourmet food products to a discerning client base.

The large format store provides the perfect rustic backdrop for the presentation of a wide range of local, imported and nationally produced fresh and preserved gourmet food products. A regular feature of the store is their ‘Market Days’ with a variety of offerings including food and wine tasting. The store also features in the bi-annual Karaka Garden Ramble and is a regular sponsor of Calf Club days at the local rural schools.

There is no immediate competition in the vicinity, and the business has demonstrated regular and steady growth. Turnover peaks in the summer months and is currently regularly in excess of $25,000 per week. The rent is just $400 per week, and there is a secure lease in place until May 2018.

manufacturer - rotorua

Overview

This business manufactures and distributes specialised timber processing machinery, primarily to the building truss and frame industry and secondly to general timber processing plants. The products are produced under a well known and respected brand name, dating back to 1978 when the business started producing what would be the number one radial arm saw used in the building industry for truss and frame production.

These machines have been sent to Russia, South Africa, Japan, Malaysia, USA, Canada, and to the strongest market in Australia, as well as being used extensively in New Zealand.

The business has strong ties to the major nail plate producers who are strong promoters of the products to their customers.  Product development has produced a good range of machinery available now in manual or CNC, all of which meets OSH safety guidelines for all markets.

The business achieved sales of five million dollars in the 2008 financial year, before the global economic crisis affected both domestic and international markets. Significant restructuring of the business has since taken place and sales for 2012 are looking very strong with a number of machines already produced and dispatched to order, plus additional orders currently in production.

There is expectation for a prolonged and gradual period of sustainable production in housing which will provide a significant boost in sales.
