Russell is an incredibly passionate and experienced businessman. Running his own businesses since 1973, he is the fourth generation in a family of Wellington business owners dating back to the 1930’s.
Russell’s first business was a retail bookstore in central Wellington (which he established with his wife Margaret). They took that business from 2 to 15 staff, opened the first lotto franchise in NZ, expanded and added a café, and grew turnover every consecutive year for the 25 years they owned it. This business was sold in 1998 and Russell ventured overseas.
When Russell came back to New Zealand he took up Real Estate with Harcourt’s. In his first year he became one of their top 20 sales consultants and then decided to buy into the business. During this time Russell & Margaret revised & updated the property management division of the company, while Russell increased turnover by 49%.
From success in Real Estate Sales & Property Managment Russell moved on to business coaching with Red Hot Business Coaching. This very rewarding move has given Russell a wide and sympathetic insight into everyday issues confronting business owners including the importance of "Business Exit Planning"
Russell is a proud and committed Wellingtonian and a believer in family values. He was born & educated in Wellington (went to Wellington College) he still plays squash with his son every week and is known in Wellington rugby circles. He was a competitive swimmer & later enjoyed scuba diving around the Wellington coast & offshore islands, these days loves getting outdoors to explore & enjoy many of the interesting & diverse parts of Wellington’s natural & unspoilt beauty.
